Kelsey is humbled to be back home and working with the award winning team of journalist on Fox 8 Morning Edition --- John Snell, Meg Gatto, Rob Krieger, Shelby Latino and Kristi Coleman -- to continue to build on the legacy of excellence they have established.
Kelsey received a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication with a concentration in Journalism and a minor in Spanish at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Soon after graduation, she began her career at WAFB in Baton Rouge where she was a multi-media journalist and morning show reporter. After three years there, she returned to her hometown of New Orleans-- taking a position as a morning news reporter and fill-in weekend anchor. Kelsey spent the next three years in Birmingham, Alabama. During her three years in the Magic City, Kelsey was the Traffic Anchor for Good Day Alabama and the noon newscast anchor.
In her journalistic career, she has covered everything from LSU and Saints football to hurricanes and local/statewide elections.
While Kelsey Davis moved around a lot growing up, she’s essentially a New Orleans native (she got her educational foundation at Ursuline Academy) and has deep family roots in the Crescent City. Kelsey loves all things food, fun, and southern hospitality. In her spare time, she enjoys working out (so she can eat), shopping, watching documentaries on all kinds of subjects and people, attending festivals/concerts/Broadway shows (then singing the songs incessantly in the car, around the newsroom, the house, etc.) traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Kelsey is a founding member of the Baton Rouge Area Association of Black Journalists, a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and a member of the Krewe of Muses.
