NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A violent start to the weekend left four men wounded in shootings in and around the French Quarter and on Claiborne Avenue.
According to the New Orleans Police Department, a man was in his vehicle entering a construction zone in the 6200 block of S. The victim was struck twice and taken to a hospital.
Two men were reportedly shot in the French Quarter around an hour later. The NOPD says the victims were shot to the body in the 700 block of Iberville Street just after midnight, one block away from Canal and Bourbon Streets.
On Saturday morning around 8 a.m., police say a man was walking on Decatur Street going into a bar near the intersection of Frenchmen and Esplanade when a suspect asked him what he was looking at and then opened fire, striking the victim.
