Majority of power restored after animal came into contact with equipment

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The majority of Entergy customers left in the dark Monday have had their power restored, as of 4:30 p.m.

The outages stretched from Mid-City into the CBD and onto the Fair Grounds in Gentilly.

Entergy tweeted that an animal came into contact with some equipment at a substation.

Nearly 6,700 customers remain without power in the CBD/Treme area. Our investigation has found that the initial cause of the outage was an animal coming into contact with equipment at one of our substations. pic.twitter.com/c3Rhpv6XsQ
